We are very excited to welcome yet another new talent to Dirt Crew Recordings! J. Peacock is a Blackpool born artist, raised on Northern Soul and nurtured in the Manchester music scene. In 2015, he started making and releasing techno under the moniker Joel John. More recently, he has turned his focus closer to home, inspired by uplifting house music produced by friends, and sampling his favourite records played by his dad over the years. Last year he released a first collab track with Laurence Guy on Shall Not Fade. J.Peacock's The Praying Kind EP marks a new musical chapter: combining nostalgia and dance floor energy. In his own words: The goal was to just have fun, experimenting with a new way of making music to what Ive been doing previously. Taking influence from artists I used to listen to constantly like Soundstream, Cottam, Boo Williams as well as artists close to me like Harry Wolfman and Laurence Guy. This record is about creating something that gives me flashbacks to my dad playing tunes in his flat. The opener Philly Track is a true original House tune reminiscent of those classic records in the early 90s, think of the Paris French wave sounds or New York style cut up and filtered good times dance floor hitters. Silk Road starts out as a tribal groover with some great vocal sampling going on, this one is much more situated in the Bass and UK style areas of House Music. Again with a big touch of Soul and deepness all around. Then on to the breaks laden Midnight Standard. Here J. Peacock shows us another side of his musical spectrum, much more in the regions of a Harry Wolfman production even with touches of progressive breaks. A really great dark and smoke filled club tune! Closing out with the title track The Praying Kind he opens up all filters here and brings us a great banger of a track. Slowly building towards that big middle break to unleash a real dance floor monster. This one should tear it up anywhere! Enjoy this lovely soulful, diverse House EP by J. Peacock! Surely a great start to his new project! All tracks mastered by Salz Mastering in Cologne. Music Written & Produced by J. Peacock. Photography by J. Peacock & Art by Break 3000.

Two years after his first release on our label we are very glad to have Love Will Say No from northern Italy back with another stellar mix of styles mini album/ extended EP! From Dark Disco to Cut up House and soulful Groove, you can find it all in this beautiful package of songs. Always looking to the farther left field side of dance music and never forgetting the strength of the dance floor sound, something that really touches us and makes us proud to release, certainly what Dirt Crew always stood for in our 20 years of existence. A true unique style! This time we let the artist himself put some words on the tracks as it really describes his sound in the best possible way; Carry the Fire - One of my musical myths since I was a kid is for sure the birth of Hip Hop and those early days. Kool Herc and the merry-go-round, those breaks, those grooves, the essence of dancing stripped to the bone. Even today, with all that technology available, that must be the seed of what were doing. So this track is my tribute to that. And happens to be released exactly 50 years after the birth of Hip Hop. The title is a reference from The Road by Cormack McCarthy, and also if I chose that when he was still alive, in the end happened to be a tribute also to him. Time Is the Perfect Lover - Yes it is. Damn power of memories to distort the reality of our past, tryin to trick us. Youll Know When - A French touch track like many I wrote in more than 20 years, but full of the bittersweet eyes of a 40 years old man. When youre 20, you hope for things to happen. When youre 40, you hope to be able to recognise when things happen. Gonna Summer - First track I wrote as Love Will Say No, almost 10 years ago. Never satisfied with the first result, I wanted to give new life to it. The Roule seed is still there, the mellon collie rhodes chords too, but now the groove is working for a late sunset as I always hoped. Red Window - Summer. Late night. Making music in my apartment. Too hot. Almost pitch dark outside on the streets, with no sound around. Just one single window in sight. With a red light. Never discovered anything more. This War Is Finally Lost - Ending a relationship, of any kind, could be a relief. Even if we lose. Winning is not important anymore as is ending. Exactly like wars. All tracks mastered by Salz Mastering in Cologne. Music Written & Produced by Love Will Say No. Photography & Art by Break 3000.
