It's a new year and this means more jungle from the Jungle Cakes family. Euphonique & Dazee join forces fusing their love of oldskool jungle through to modern day Drum and bass, bringing you their 'Welcome to the Jungle' album sampler. Euphonique's system-shaking signature has been a key part of the D&B landscape since she first emerged in 2008. Mancunian turned Bristolian she fuses the sounds of both cities releasing rave-ready beats on some of the most respected labels in the scene. Dazee is an original jungle pioneer, with a career spanning three decades; she stays true to her and 90's junglist roots whilst bringing that up-to-date Bristol sound. Both continue to take their art around the world and across the airwaves, and it's no surprise that all 7 of these tracks will leave you wanting more. Track 1 on this sampler is 'Skip De Du Dat'. The subs just keep on rolling and the toppers go crazy on this 90s inspired track. Team this with some classic sounding piano keys and what you get is a great first track that stands the test of time. Track 2 'I Miss U', has another lovely 90's jungle vibe. Starry FX's and deep earthy subs mixed over almost erratic drums and sweet vocal hooks. 'Bam Bam' was a massive hit for DJ Deekline and Ed Solo Ft Yolanda - and the Euphonique and Dazee remix is no exception. This track 3 remix has boomier subs, LFO driven basses and modern day ragga D&B beat with a heavy skank. Track 4 'Idiot Sound' ft 'Killamanjaro' from Euphonique has clean snares and some really heavy jump-up-esque wobs - making this a perfect beat for 'Killamanjaro' to throw his unique style of MCing down to give us that modern take on ragga jungle vibes. Track 5 is 'That's Criminal'. Darkness, wobbles and crazy subs come bounding over high tempo beats with riser FX's and some perfectly timed samples. It'd be criminal not to love this track. Second to last on this sampler is 'Never'. With rolling subs, classic rave synths and a rewind warble effect all sewn in nicely to grimey bassline. Last up is 'Addicted 2 u' from Dazee - with light keys and crisp drums cascading over low subs and basslines creating the perfect backdrop for the sweet vocals used on this track. These guys really know how to put together a sampler, and if these 6 tracks are anything to go by, the latest 'Welcome to the Jungle' album from the pair is going to be an absolute banger. So, get this quick and set the precedent for 2024. For licencing & label enquiries, please contact Martin Flex: martin@hotcakesmusic.com

JUNGLE CAKES UNLEASHES THE FIERY 'DON'T YOU? E.P' A FIERCE COLLABORATION WITH KAYA FYAH, MARTIAL TAKTICS, DET, AND ED SOLO. Jungle Cakes ignites the dance floor once again! An explosive collaboration joins the forces with the meteoric rise of Martial Taktics, the vibrant Kaya Fyah and the iconic Mc Det, fresh off their triumphant release 'Bounce.' Setting the stage ablaze with their unparalleled energy, they've enlisted the studio prowess of Jungle Cakes maestro Ed Solo, turning the collaboration into an explosive concoction of musical brilliance. In a captivating move to promote the forthcoming E.P, Ed Solo surprised audiences up and down the UK with pop-up performances by Kaya Fyah in Bristol, Brighton, London, and Milton Keynes, creating an electric atmosphere to promote the highly anticipated release. Impromptu performances showcase the dynamic energy of the upcoming EP, emphasizing the genuine bond between the artists and their fans. The surprise pop-up PAs have become a hallmark of Kaya and Ed's commitment to delivering an unparalleled musical experience, leaving audiences eagerly anticipating the full release. This immersive approach to connecting with fans amplifies the excitement for the upcoming release and solidifies Kaya's position as a trailblazer in the UK music scene. Kaya's undeniable connection with her audiences are clearly portrayed in the videos capturing the live PA responses, as seen on their socials. This unique connection that Kaya has cultivated with her audience is a testament to the authenticity and vibrancy of her artistry. First up, 'Don't You?' brings conscious optimism to jungle drum and bass as Martial Taktics goes in on the moody b-line energy and washed-out keys while Kaya Fyah dips deep into her inner soul and visions, breaking through self-doubt with 'That Was Then, This Is Now' being the lyrical theme throughout her journey. 'Moving', a Martial Taktics-produced dystopian rush, written as Kaya found herself shapeshifting into new forms and finding fresh ways to power up. This atmospheric, sabre-toothed roller floats insouciantly down the rabbit hole, bringing heavy pressure to the dance floor as the dark, echoing chaos of Kaya's searing vocals combines perfectly with Det's muscular, supercharged lyricism. The final track, 'She Was Afraid', sees Kaya no longer afraid of herself and transitioning into the Fyah Startah she was born to be. Ed Solo steps up alongside Martial Taktics on production duties, delivering synthy sampled chord goodness, jazzy bursts, and heavy amen builds before the drop sees Kaya sending down a storm of infectious good vibes and Det delivering a powerhouse counter-vocal as the personal revolution continues. Junglist born 'n' raised, singer/songwriter (and MC) Kaya Fyah, was thrown into a world of music from the day she could smile. Having appeared on stage with the mighty Congo Natty, one of the original pioneers of jungle music (and Kaya's dad) from the age of 14, the north London native was born and raised into a lion-hearted universe of 100%% positive culture vibes. Kaya Fyah, the Fyah Startah - remember the name as the flames lick higher. Martial Taktics marks his inaugural EP with an electrifying debut, yet having delved into his sonic arsenal, it's abundantly clear that this is just the beginning. This EP is a mere glimpse into the limitless potential that lies ahead. Martial Taktics is about to unleash a new era onto the Drum n Bass & Jungle scene. Stay tuned for more surprises as Kaya Fyah and Ed Solo continue to set the stage ablaze on their journey through the UK and beyond. The Fyah Startah's flame is spreading, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of fans across the nation.
